New GNR Single to hit radio tomorrow.

Just got official confirmation from my friend at AOL Radio...Tomorrow the first new GNR single since 1996's OH MY GOD will be released. It will be the album's title track - Chinese Democracy. I'm excited to see how the final mix sounds. I can say that this song is explosive and a great way for this new band to introduce themselves. This is the new "Welcome to the Jungle"...If I were a professional sports team, this is the song I would come out to...

Will the end come November 25th?

The end is near.  GNR management has visited Best Buy and sampled 3 tracks to build excitement.  Shackler's is on Rock Band 2 and If The World will appear during the credits of the new DiCaprio/Crowe movie Body of Lies on October 10.  All of this can only mean one thing: the album is coming, but when?

Travel to www.mygnrforum.com and you'll visit my online home for the past 10 years.  These folks love GNR more than life itself, but they've been burned more times than a California forest. They've seen releases dates come and go like political promises, but unlike the past 7 years, this time, it just seems real.  The date that keeps popping up is November 25, the tuesday before Thanksgiving.  The album is to be a Best Buy exclusive (not sure if that means iTunes also gets it), nonetheless, fans would fish this album out of dumpster if it were meant hearing the first original work from Axl in 17 years!

To the fans, enjoy this time.  You've all waited so patiently and been through a lot of let downs, but having heard some of what will be on Chinese D, the wait will have been worth it.  We're getting the soda ready on our end and on November 25, hopefully we'll all be toasting to Chinese Democracy together. Peace,

Kaneda.

Find the 15 Hidden GNR icons...

All right Gunners, here's the deal...Lot of you double talkin Jive Mo-Fos were bitch slap rapping about how unfair it was that people were posting their findings and then losing because they were off by one...well, the system of emailing me private was lame and boring. We're opening it back up...First person that finds all and posts the correct answers in the blog comment section wins. You can email me privately to see if you're correct, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to get back to you before someone posts the correct answers. My email is chris.kooluris@ketchum.com

p.s. Go get Rock Band 2 and listen to the studio version of Shacklet's Revenge...it's effin amazing. Congrats to Axl and Co. for delivering a kick-ass track. To those opposed, well.

Kaneda.

GNR Blogger Arrested!

I’d hate to be Kevin Cogil right now…arrested by the FBI for illegally uploading 9 unreleased Guns N Roses tracks, one person is taking the fall for doing something most die hard fans have been doing for years – sharing leaked tracks. Kevin’s problem was he promoted and bragged about his decision to share with the world material that which belonged to Axl Rose, Guns N Roses and its management. What a fool.

While it’s one thing to steal music that’s already been released, leaking songs that are unreleased and from the most expensive album of all time is real dangerous territory to enter for a file sharer. Where Kevin got the tracks is still a mystery to me, but many GNR fan sites are speculating that someone close to Axl shared some tracks with friends and those tracks eventually made their way to Kevin.

All of this will be a non issue when Chinese Democracy finally comes out. Trying to keep this album a secret with so much attention and interest surrounding it is, and has proven to be, impossible. Having heard many of the leaked tracks I can honestly say Axl is sitting on a masterpiece; chock full of instant classics. This is the year Axl to get it out…We’ve got the soda ready.

Shackler's Revenge leaks and the madness continues...

Chinese Democracy is everywhere and nowhere.  It's finished and incomplete.  The demos are final and the finals are demos. It's one album with four albums worth of material.   Everyone has it, and nobody has it.  It's the greatest Guns album ever, it's the worst Guns album ever. Welcome to the paranoid jungle baby, wake up, time to cry!

After listening to Shackler's Revenge, a kick ass industrial rocker from nu-GNR, I feel bad for the virtuoso musicians behind it.   Not because they haven't created arguably the only rock n roll worth discussing these days, but because the world will never judge them fairly.   Every song off of Chinese Democracy is not judged as MUSIC, instead they are scrutinized like auditory elixirs that must succeed or else people (or even gods) will die.  Even with so much at stake, Axl will save us.

He won't save us from High School Musical 3 or Miley Cyrus, but he will save us from the most disillusioned side of ourselves - Nostalgia.  Some people want the new Guns N Roses to sound like the old Guns N Roses.  Why would Axl want to write the same songs again?  It's not that he can't, it's just that he already did.   He wanted to take the music forward and experiment with new techniques, sounds, structures...etc.  When you listen to the leaks, it sounds like Axl and Co. have had a blast experimenting with the thing they love most - music.  And in return, they have produced some damn good music and should be applauded for that.  Even the severe wait and chaotic journey have made the experience of listening to new GNR music memorable and monumental.   When's the last time music had so much attached to it?

This album will be whatever you want it to be.  To those of us that love GNR, it will be magical and mean more to us than any cavalier journalist could ever know.  Love Axl or hate him, the man remains one of the most provocative and interesting figures of our time.  Anything he creates will be talked about for an eternity.  And much like Shackler, soon he will have his revenge.
